We are all born knowing the value of touch. The instinct to “rub better” any injury, to bring warmth, to give comfort. From Roman gladiators preparing for the arena to Indian mothers massaging their newborn babies, the art of massage has been practised and recognised for centuries.
Massage stimulates the body’s own healing systems and improves circulation, bringing oxygen and red blood cells into tired muscles. At the same time it relaxes the nervous system, allowing it to move from “fight or flight” mode to “rest and restore”.
At Nurture Massage Therapy, we want everyone to be able to enjoy the benefits of therapeutic massage.
Individually tailored – our treatments provide what you need, not just a standard approach.
You choose the areas you need – – in our individualised treatments we deliver where your body needs it. Want to have treatment on back, hands and feet? We can do that. Want us to spend ages on your legs but then massage your neck and shoulders? No problem.
You choose how you want to feel – most of our clients want to be able to relax and switch off from the stress of everyday life. (Don’t worry if you fall asleep!) But if you have a busy day ahead and want to feel more refreshed, just let us know.
Nervous clients welcome! – our main aim is for you to be able to relax and fully benefit from the treatment. We can give you as much information as you need so you know what to expect and you feel in control.
Feel apprehensive about your body? There is no need – we love seeing different body types and shapes! But we appreciate you trusting with us with this, and will always work with you to ensure you feel comfortable and respected.

Massages take place in my private treatment room in Acomb, York.
Our most commonly booked appointments are:
1-hour individually tailored therapeutic massage treatment costs £40.
Back, neck and shoulder 30 minute treatment – £25
